About GreenDweller
My name is Laura, and I’m a LEED® accredited professional that is still trying to figure out what it means to be a sustainable individual. I’ll be graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture in the spring, and while I design my projects to be resource efficient, I see my life as very inefficient. Being a dorm and apartment dweller, many decisions about sustainability are out of my hands. But there are several ways in which I can lessen my impact and enrich the quality of my life. That is my goal: minimum impact for maximum value. This means that not every sustainable tactic or technology is right for me; nor is it right for you. I wear leather shoes, eat chicken for dinner, and use more Styrofoam than I care to admit. But I’m slowly moving towards a greener lifestyle. What helps me decide when and where to make changes is evaluating “greenness” based on numbers, not on advertising.
GreenDweller is a platform for my research on questions of sustainability and a means of generating discussion and hopefully a few conclusions about what it means to be “green.”
